These agents are injectable prescription medicines that are placed into the muscle to temporarily improve the look of moderate to severe crows feet and frown lines. This medicine will stop the signal to the muscle to contract which weakens the folding of the skin and thus decreases the lines. This agent is generally effective for 60 to 90 days and then slowly wears off. Some patients have a more prolonged effective period, unfortunately a few will have shorter as well. Patients often respond better to one of these medications than the others.
